Brockenhurst Heritage and History

This website celebrates Brockenhurst and its heritage and history as a beautiful village at the heart of the New Forest. 

For several years a series of history books, both factual history and stories passed-down, have been sold to raise funds for Brockenhurst's CofE churches. 

Many of the stories were recalled by John Purkess MBE, who ran the village store and lived his life in the village; John's books are further researched and edited by former journalist David Bennett, who also publishes his own books about the village and its surroundings.
